He was known as Tiger, and he was the only undefeated gladiator champion in Roman history until he was called from retirement to end the reign of a new champion known as Maximus. His weapon—brutal, heartless and inhumanely effective—mirrored his persona. The short, nearly blunted double-edged blade abetted the vicious body-to-body fighting of the arena. Easy to lift and swing, it reduced arm fatigue during battle while its forward center of gravity added deadly, flesh-splitting thrust to attacks.
Beautifully recreated here from the film original using warrior- strength high carbon steel, our Sword of Tigris of Gaul also boasts the heralded gladiator's signature "tiger paws" pommel and guard, each cast in high-polish brass and gorgeous complements to the black leather-wrapped handle. The overall sword length is 29".
